The EcoScore is our own assessment of the material’s environmental footprint, on a scale of 1 to 5. It says nothing about the quality, and the material must be recycled under the right conditions.

Frequently asked questions about Heras cloth

Can a Heras banner be hung outside?

Yes, that’s what it’s designed for. Our product specification lists the 350-gram perforated fabric as suitable for outdoor banners, and the fabrics are finished to be weather-resistant with hemming and eyelets.

Why is the fabric perforated?

A Heras fence stands freestanding and is not attached to a building façade. A solid panel catches the wind like a sail and pulls on the fence. The 40/60 per cent perforation allows air to pass through, ensuring that the pressure on the fence remains lower.

In what sizes can I order a Heras flag?

The ordering module offers two standard sizes: 3400 by 1700 mm and 3400 by 1750 mm. These are the sizes that fit standard Heras fences. If you require a different size, please do ask us what options are available.

What is the difference between this and a crowd-control barrier?

The fabric is the same type of perforated material, but the situation is not. A Heras fence panel is attached to a fixed Heras fence surrounding a construction site or other area and remains in place. A crowd-control barrier panel is attached to Nadar fencing along a route and must be able to be removed quickly so it can be moved.

How do I attach a heras cloth?

With the eyelets in the hemmed edge, attached to the mesh of the fence itself. If you would like the fabric to be tauter, it can be supplied with an aluminium tubular frame and tensioners, or mounted on one of our mounting systems.

How long does a Heras fence remain in place?

We don’t specify a timeframe of a few months, as it depends on the location, the sun and the wind. Our product sheet specifies the material as outdoor canvas. If you know the artwork will need to remain in place for years, please enquire about the Dibond version.

Is there a PVC-free version?

Yes, we do have a PVC-free mesh as an eco-friendly alternative. The standard 350-gram fabric is not PVC-free, so please make it clear if you want the PVC-free version.

Are you lot coming to put the posters up as well?

That’s possible. Delivery and installation can be carried out by Creafor or by someone else – the choice is yours. Our own team sets off from Lokeren and prefers to install a whole series of fences in a single visit.

How much does a Heras banner cost?

The Heras mesh is available in our ordering module, where you can enter your own dimensions and quantity and see the price straight away. For non-standard sizes or a Dibond panel, we will provide a bespoke quote.

What is the largest size?

The standard sizes are based on the fence. For a longer fence, hang several panels side by side, and we will extend the design across the fences so that it appears as a single, cohesive whole.

What about the environmental aspect?

The PVC tarpaulin scores 1 out of 5, whilst the PVC-free mesh scores 4 out of 5. On a building site where work lasts for months and the tarpaulin can be disposed of afterwards, that difference is well worth it.

Description Heras cloth

If there is a Heras fence around your building site, your plot of land or a property that is for sale, a Heras banner is the simplest way to use that fence as an advertising medium straight away. Creafor prints them in standard sizes of 3400 by 1700 mm and 3400 by 1750 mm, so that you can create a uniform look across an entire row of fences in a single order and the banners will fit perfectly without needing to be adjusted. A fence stands freely, so it is fully exposed to the wind. That is why we use 350-gram perforated fabric that allows air to pass through. You can read exactly what this fabric does on the page about the mesh banner. If your artwork is suspended from Nadar fencing along a route rather than from a fixed Heras fence, please refer to the crowd barrier canvas.

Materials for Heras cloth

350-gram mesh, 40/60 perforated

Or as a panel made from Dibond

Two, 3, 4 or 6 mm, up to 2050 at 4050 mm. That’s the choice to make when the fence is to remain in place for years and communication needs to be maintained.

Finish

  • Edged with sturdy eyelets and reinforced edges
  • Or with eyelets, an aluminium tubular frame and elastic straps
  • Standard mounting systems for those who wish to hang the fabric separately from the fence
