A pavement sign has a job that most signs don’t: it’s put out every morning and brought back in every evening. That’s why its weight is just as important as its sturdiness.
For outdoor use polystyrene 1 to 3 mm is best. It’s PVC-free, comes in sizes up to 1000 by 1400 mm, and is light enough to move with one hand. If the board is to remain indoors, or if it’s for a weekend event, Reboard is a suitable option, as it can be disposed of with waste paper afterwards. If it needs to last for years inside the premises, then plywood is the sturdiest of the three.
On top of that comes the writing surface. A chalkboard It is finished with a jet-black varnish, or a clear varnish over a printed background, so that your corporate identity remains visible whilst still allowing you to write on it with chalk. If you prefer to use a marker, the same coating is available in whiteboard varnish.
The shape is not fixed. We mill the sign to a specific silhouette, so it could be a coffee cup, a bottle or a shape from your corporate identity, just as easily as a rectangle with rounded corners. If you’d prefer the sign to hang on the façade rather than stand on the pavement, then the billboards one group further on.
