Frequently asked questions about printed wine crates
Does Creafor make the wine crates itself?
No, the wood is purchased from suppliers. The printing is, however, carried out by Creafor. This means you have a single point of contact for the design, printing and delivery, and you don’t have to go looking for boxes yourself.
How many bottles fit in a crate?
Today’s order module features a design: an FSC-certified box for a single bottle, printed on the sliding side. If you require a box for several bottles, please specify this in your enquiry, as this depends on what the timber supplier has available at the time.
Where exactly will the print go?
On the sliding side. This is the surface that faces upwards whilst the box is closed, and which the recipient slides to the side to remove the bottle. It is therefore also the surface that one sees first.
Can I submit my own design?
Yes. Your file will be checked for format, transparency flattening, outline paths and bleed before it goes to production. If you don’t have a design yet, the design team will create one based on your briefing.
Can the coffin be left outside?
A wine crate is intended as gift packaging and is therefore designed for indoor use. Our material data sheet does not specify how this wood performs in the rain, so we do not provide any information on this.
What’s the difference between this and a printed jigsaw puzzle as a gift?
A jigsaw puzzle is the gift itself and is entirely centred on your image. A wine box is the packaging for something else and is usually kept after use. If you’d like both, you can add them to the same order.
How soon can I get them?
As the timber is purchased, we do not specify a fixed deadline in writing. If you have a wedding date or an end-of-year promotion for which it is required, please state that date in your enquiry. Urgent orders will be considered, but may incur an additional charge.
Are you going to post this as well?
No, this is a gift that you give away yourself; there’s no installation involved. Creafor does, however, deliver finished goods to customers every weekday, including elsewhere in Europe.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Starting from one box. For end-of-year gifts, it’s all about the order quantity, and the price per box goes down accordingly. Do make sure to order in good time, as everyone’s busy at the same time in November and December.
What about the environmental aspect?
The box is made from FSC-certified wood, so it comes from sustainably managed forests. What’s more, wood is the sort of packaging that the recipient tends to keep rather than throw away.
