Frequently asked questions about l-stickers
Does an L-sticker leave any adhesive residue?
No, because it doesn’t have an adhesive layer. The film adheres to the glass by static electricity and leaves no residue when removed. That is why driving schools and learner drivers choose this type rather than a standard self-adhesive sticker.
Can I reuse the sticker?
Yes. You remove it from the window, store it flat on a clean surface, and then stick it onto another window. The cleaner the glass and the film remain, the better the static adhesion will work.
How long does an L-sticker last?
You can expect it to last for about a year, both indoors and outdoors. This is an estimated lifespan, not an expiry date: how often you remove and replace the sticker will affect this.
Why is the ink coverage limited to 50 per cent?
The film adheres statically and therefore needs to be in contact with the glass. An ink layer that is too thick makes the film stiffer and reduces that contact, causing the sticker to start coming away. So make sure your design is open enough, with areas of space rather than a completely solid image.
How do I apply it?
Wet it, with a little water on the window. This way, you can still move the sticker around until it’s straight, and then press the water out from the centre towards the edges. The glass must be clean and free of grease beforehand.
Can the sticker be in a shape other than an L?
Yes. Rectangular, rounded corners or a special shape are all possible, including around your logo. The L-shape is the standard as it fits over the corner of the window and leaves the view unobstructed.
On which windows can a sticker like this be placed?
The Highway Code sets out which windows of a vehicle may be covered and where the ‘L’ sign must be displayed. Please check this for your specific situation, as it varies depending on the vehicle and the driving course.
Will you be putting the stickers on?
That’s not necessary here. Everyone applies the static stickers themselves – that’s precisely the advantage. We produce them and deliver them to you, even in quantities sufficient for an entire fleet or a group of pupils.
How much does an L-sticker cost?

What is the largest size?
Limited to the width of the static film roll. For a larger window, a standard adhesive window sticker is the more practical choice, as it is difficult to position static film straight when cut to size.
What about the environmental aspect?
These films are not PVC-free. If that is what you are looking for, the PVC-free range is the place to start.
Description L-stickers
If a learner driver is using your car, the ‘L’ must be visible for as long as necessary and then removed. That’s what the ‘L’ stickers are for. They are static-cling stickers, with no adhesive layer, so you can remove them from the windscreen and stick them on another car without leaving any residue on the glass. The ‘L’ shape wraps round the corner of the windscreen, where it causes the least obstruction to the view. We print them in colour, including the name of your driving school if you wish. Please bear one thing in mind regarding the design: the total ink coverage must not exceed 50 per cent, otherwise the film will not adhere properly. Materials for L-stickers
Transparent blue pen stick
Static adhesion, so there is no adhesive layer and no traces of adhesive on the glass. The blue colour is that of the backing, not the colour of the final result.
Electrostatic film, white or transparent
Glossy or ultra-clear top coat, for flat glass. Approximately one year, indoors and outdoors.
Maximum ink coverage of 50 per cent
Static film adheres through the film itself, and too much ink forms a layer over it. That is why we keep the total ink coverage below half, and this helps determine the appearance of the design.
Application
- It should be applied wet, which makes it easier to position it on the window
- Only on flat glass; not on walls or wood
- Can be reused as long as the cling film remains clean
