Frequently asked questions about beach flags

What is a beach flag?

A beach flag is a narrow flag attached to a flexible pole with its own base. It stands tall, moves with the wind and therefore stands out in an area where there is little else to see. You can put them up wherever you like and take them away again.

Which shape should I choose?

There are three shapes. ‘Drop’ is teardrop-shaped, ‘straight’ has a rounded top and ‘square’ is rectangular. ‘Square’ keeps your text at eye level for the longest time, whilst ‘drop’ stands out most when viewed from the side.

What sizes are available?

The ‘Small’ size is mounted on a 210 cm pole, with a flag measuring 154 by 77 cm in the ‘drop’ style or 165 by 65 cm in the ‘straight’ style. Medium goes up to 320 cm with a flag measuring 250 by 65 cm; square medium goes up to 270 cm with a flag measuring 205 by 65 cm. Large goes up to 440 or 460 cm, with a flag measuring 370 by 65 cm in straight or 366 by 144 cm in drop.

Which size do I need?

That depends on the surface. On grass or in the ground, use a ground stake. On hard surfaces, use a rubber base weighing 15 kg for a small flag or 25 kg for a large one, or a parasol base weighing between 24 and 38 kg. We also stock concrete bases and cross bases. Choose the base to suit the flagpole, not the price, as a base that’s too light under a tall flagpole is the reason why a beach flag falls over.

Is the flag legible on both sides?

The fabric is approximately 95 per cent translucent. This means your design will be visible in reverse on the reverse side, so you do not need to order a double-sided print.

How do I put up a beach flag?

You can do it yourself in just a few minutes. Simply slot the flagpole sections together, pull the flag over the pole and insert the pole into the base. You don’t need any specific experience or tools to do this. The flagpole comes with a carry bag, so you can take the flag with you to your next location.

Will I be given a template for my design?

Yes. As soon as you order the beach flag online, you will receive the correct template for designing your flag, showing the correct dimensions and the area that wraps around the flagpole.

Can a beach flag be displayed indoors as well?

Yes, the banner is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Inside an exhibition hall, a beach flag points towards the entrance to your stand, flying above the heads of the visitors.

How much does a beach flag cost?

Beach flags are not available as a standard option in the ordering module, as the fabric, pole and base are selected separately. Please let us know the shape, height and surface on which it will be placed, and we will work out the price for you.

What is the largest size?

366 by 144 cm on a 460 cm flagpole. Above that height, the leverage at the base becomes too great and the flag flaps in the wind.

What about the environmental aspect?

The banner is made of PVC-free polyester with an Ecoscore of 2 out of 5. The pole and base will last for years, so when you launch a new campaign, you only need to replace the banner.

Description Beach flags

Whether you’re at a festival site, next to a sports ground or outside your own business premises, the question isn’t whether your message looks good, but whether anyone can see it from fifty metres away. A beach flag works well for this because it reaches high and sways in the wind, drawing the eye to it. There are three shapes. The ‘Drop’ is teardrop-shaped and most eye-catching when viewed from the side. The ‘Straight’ rises straight up and offers the greatest legible height. The ‘Square’ keeps your text at eye level for the longest time. The fabric is approximately 95 per cent translucent, meaning your design is visible as a mirror image on the reverse side, so you don’t need to order a double-sided version. Choose the base to suit the ground conditions, not the price: a base that is too light under a tall flagpole is the only reason a beach flag might topple over.

Materials for Beach flags

Liquorice, teardrop-shaped

From 154 by 77 cm on a 210 cm pole to 366 by 144 cm on a 460 cm pole. This is the shape that stands out the most, as the top catches the eye.

Straight, straight with a rounded top

165 by 65, 250 by 65 or 370 by 65 cm. Narrow, so suitable for spaces where there is little room along a path or at an entrance.
