Frequently asked questions about asphalt stickers

Does a sticker really stick to tarmac?

Yes, provided you choose the right film. Streetstick has a very strong adhesive and is designed for textured surfaces, such as tarmac, paving stones and concrete. Standard vinyl flooring is designed for flat floors and will come away from rough tarmac.

How long does an asphalt sticker last?

You should allow for around three months. That’s sufficient for a campaign, an event or temporary signage. For something that needs to remain in place for years, printed film isn’t the right solution anyway.

What’s the difference between this and a standard floor sticker?

A floor sticker is designed for smooth indoor floors and comes with a non-slip coating – either laminate or varnish – as standard. The asphalt sticker is intended for rough outdoor surfaces, has a much stronger adhesive and is already matt and scratch-resistant in its own right, without the need for an additional coating.

Can I apply it myself?

Yes, the film is designed to be easy to apply. Work on a clean, dry surface and rub the sticker down firmly so that the adhesive bonds with the texture of the tarmac or paving stones. For large areas or busy locations, our team will come to your site.

Will I be able to remove it afterwards?

The film is designed to be easily removed after use. That is one of the reasons for using it for temporary advertising in public spaces.

Can an asphalt sticker also be used indoors?

That’s possible, and it’s particularly useful on rough indoor floors, for example in a warehouse or a workshop with a rough concrete floor. On a smooth shop floor or exhibition floor, you’ll save money by using a standard floor sticker.

Is it made to measure?

Yes. You can choose a straight shape or have the sticker die-cut to a specific outline, for example around a logo, an arrow or a footprint. Both options are printed in full colour.

Is the surface important when installing it?

Very much so. Loose sand, moss, oil or a wet surface will prevent the adhesive from bonding, no matter how strong it is. Wipe the area clean and dry first to ensure the adhesive lasts for its full lifespan.

Description Asphalt sticker

If you need to apply an asphalt sticker to a car park, a pavement, a cycle path or a square, the surface is the real problem. Asphalt, paving stones and concrete are rough and porous, and a standard floor sticker will start to peel off after just a few days. That’s why Creafor prints on Streetstick, a vinyl specifically designed for such textured surfaces, which adheres with very high tack – even across paving stone joints. The image has a matt finish and is scratch-resistant, so it doesn’t glare in the sun and withstands foot traffic and cycle tyres. Expect it to last around three months outdoors, which is suitable for a campaign, a road diversion, a route or an open-air event. Afterwards, the sticker can be easily removed. If your graphic is displayed indoors on a smooth shop floor or at a trade fair stand, you can simply use a standard floor sticker.
