Frequently asked questions about l-banners
What is the difference between an L-banner and an X-banner?
The L-banner stands on an L-shaped stand and is available up to 100 x 200 cm; the X-banner has a cross at the back and is available from 60 x 160 cm. The L-system weighs 1.15 kg, whilst the X-system weighs 0.414 kg. If the banner is to remain in a fixed location and you require a wider display area, the L-banner is the more logical choice. If it needs to be transported frequently, the X-banner is more practical.
Can an L-banner be displayed outdoors?
The unit is specified for indoor and outdoor use. In practice, however, it is mainly used indoors, as the system weighs 1.15 kg and there are no specifications regarding wind load. You should therefore place it outdoors in a sheltered spot.
How long does it take to set up?
About three minutes. The system comes in a soft bag, so once you’ve finished, you can simply put everything back into the same bag.
What sizes are available?
80 x 200 cm and 100 x 200 cm. Both are two metres high; the difference lies in the width of the canvas.
Can I have L-banners produced in bulk?
Yes, they are usually ordered in batches for several branches or outlets. There are currently no L-banner designs available in our ordering system, so you will receive a quote.
Will Creafor be putting up the L-banners?
That isn’t necessary. You can set them up yourself in about three minutes and then move them to another corner or another branch.
When is it better to choose a roll-up banner?
When the banner needs to be protected between events. With a roll-up banner, the banner rolls into a cassette; with an L-banner, the banner and the frame are stored together in a bag. The page on roll-up banners goes into more detail on this.
What is the largest size?
100 by 200 cm. Any larger than this and an L-banner becomes top-heavy, in which case a roll-up banner with a heavier base or a pop-up wall is the more stable option.
Will it stand out at a busy trade fair?
Indoors, yes. It’s a lighting system weighing just over a kilo, so in a corridor where lots of people pass by, it’s better to place it against a wall rather than leave it standing in the middle of the corridor.
What about the environmental aspect?
The frontlit fabric is PVC with an Ecoscore rating of 1 out of 5. The aluminium frame will last for years, and fitting a new fabric to the same frame is the most cost-effective way to refresh the display.

An L-banner stands freestanding on the floor, stretched across an L-shaped aluminium frame. You can set the whole thing up in about three minutes and then pack it back into the flexible carry bag, so the same banner can be next to the till today and at a trade fair next month. Sizes go up to 100 x 200 cm, wider than the largest size of a x-banner, which makes a difference when the banner is only displayed in a wide corridor. If you wish to roll the banner up and store it safely in a cassette between events, then a roll-up banner the better choice.
