Frequently asked questions about floor coverings

Can floor textiles be left outside?

No, floor textiles are intended for indoor use. If the flooring is to be laid outdoors or needs to be water-resistant, vinyl flooring is the best choice, as this material is specified as suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

What is the difference between Velvet and Patio?

Velvet is the all-round, budget-friendly option with a latex backing and is machine-washable at 30 degrees. Patio offers the sharpest photorealistic print, has a vinyl backing and is available with or without a black safety edge. Choose Patio for a photo image that will be viewed up close; for everyday use that occasionally needs a wash, choose Velvet.

Will the mat stay in place on a slippery floor?

Both versions have a sturdy, non-slip backing – latex for the Velvet and vinyl for the Patio. This means the mat lies flat without slipping, so you can simply roll it up and take it with you when you’re finished.

How do I clean floor textiles?

Velvet can be machine-washed at 30 degrees. Keep Patio clean by vacuuming it regularly; this will also extend the mat’s lifespan.

What is the difference between this and vinyl flooring?

Vinyl provides a smooth, wipeable floor that can withstand heavy footfall and is also suitable for outdoor use. Textile flooring is soft, absorbs sound and traps dirt at the door. Vinyl is usually chosen for walkways through a shop, whilst textile flooring is preferred to enhance the atmosphere in a stand or lounge.

Is that black trim compulsory?

No. There is a version with a black border, mainly used for trade fairs and events, and a version without a border that blends in more seamlessly with an interior.

How big can a floor be?

The fabric comes in strips up to 3 metres wide. For larger areas, we lay several strips side by side so that an entire exhibition floor or showroom is covered.

Is it safe for children and pets?

Velvet holds the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate and is described on the product information sheet as being suitable for children and pets. This is not stated for Patio, so please check with us if this is a deciding factor for your space.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Starting from one mat. For a set of identical mats – for example, one per branch – we will include the total number in the calculation.

What is the largest size?

Strips up to 3 metres wide. For a wider floor, we either sew or lay the strips side by side, and then position the seam away from the direction of traffic.

When should I choose fabric and when should I choose vinyl?

Textile is softer, absorbs sound and is machine-washable. Vinyl flooring is harder, can be wiped clean and is also suitable for outdoor use. Textile is usually chosen for exhibition stands, whilst vinyl is preferred for shop floors.

Description Floor textiles

Are you looking for a floor that offers a soft welcome to your visitors rather than a hard, echoing surface? Floor textiles are carpets featuring your own print, either wall-to-wall or as a defined mat at the door. At a trade fair, it dampens the sound of footsteps and the noise from neighbouring stands; in a showroom or meeting area, it creates a calmer atmosphere; and at the entrance, a logo mat traps dirt before it is carried further into the premises. If you’d prefer a smooth floor that you can simply sweep, then take a look at floor vinyl. If you’re looking for individual markings on a floor that won’t come off, then you’ve come to the right place floor stickers Better. The fabric weighs 2,700 grams per square metre, has a non-slip backing and is available with or without a black border. We supply and install it using our own team based in Lokeren.
