Frequently asked questions about textile stickers

Will a sticker really stick to fabric?

Yes, the glue is designed for fibre-based materials and adheres to clothing, fabrics, carpets and floor coverings. It adheres best to smooth, clean and dry fabric. On heavily ribbed or fluffy fabric, the adhesion is poorer, so if in doubt, test it on a small area first.

Will the sticker leave any glue marks on my clothes?

Not normally – the adhesive layer can be repositioned and is designed to come off without leaving any residue. If anything does remain, simply wash it off.

Can I write on it?

Yes. The film is white and matt, so you can write on it with a pen. That’s why these stickers are often used as name stickers at events, where names are only filled in at the registration desk.

Can fabric stickers be used outdoors?

No. According to the product specification sheet, this fabric is not suitable for outdoor use. If your sticker needs to withstand wind and weather, a vinyl sticker is the right choice.

What’s the difference between this and a normal sticker?

A standard vinyl sticker adheres to a smooth, hard surface and stays there. This film, on the other hand, is made of fabric and adheres to fibres, where vinyl would not stick. Conversely, fabric is not intended for use on a window, a wall or a car.

What shapes are possible?

A rectangle, a rectangle with rounded corners or a cut-out shape. Bear in mind that very delicate shapes and thin extensions may fray, as this is fabric and not foil, which retains its sharp edges.

Can I reuse the sticker?

You can reposition it and straighten it out whilst applying it, as long as it isn’t firmly in place yet. Whether a sticker will stick just as well a second time after being worn for a day depends on the fabric it was on.

Do you apply the fabric stickers?

No, you do that yourself. They are designed specifically to be fitted without tools or any experience, and are usually ordered in sets and handed out on site.

What is the largest size?

Limited to the roll width. For a full wall covered in fabric, Airtex is the option that comes in widths of up to 3.2 metres and is applied using wallpaper paste.

What is the minimum order quantity?

From a certain quantity. For badges at an event, it’s a run, and the price per item drops significantly.

What about the environmental aspect?

PVC-free, and without a laminate coating, which makes collection easier. That’s a good combination for a sticker; see eco-friendly stickers.

Description Textile stickers

Do you need to put a name on a jumper during an event, or do you want to add information to clothing on a shop rack without sewing anything on? A fabric sticker is applied directly to the fabric and stays in place for as long as you need it. The adhesive layer is repositionable, so you can straighten the sticker out whilst applying it, and no adhesive residue is left behind afterwards. If anything does remain, you can simply wash it off. The film is white and matt, so you can write on it with a pen, which is handy when names are only filled in at the last minute. If required, we can supply the stickers on a sheet of stickers. This is a project for indoors. If you’re looking for something for a smooth wall rather than for fabric, have a look at wall stickers.
