Frequently asked questions about textile fabric

Can a textile cloth be hung outside?

No, this fabric and this frame are intended for indoor use. Polyester with a backing is not suitable for exposure to rain and wind on a building façade. For outdoor use, you’re better off using a banner or a sign.

How does the canvas go into the frame?

There is a silicone strip around the fabric – a soft edge. Use your fingers to push this edge into the groove in the aluminium profile. Start at the corners and work towards the centre; this will ensure the fabric lies flat. You do not need any tools.

Can I replace the statue later?

Yes, that’s why many customers choose fabric. The frame stays on the wall; you simply remove the fabric and stretch a new one onto it. You then order just the fabric, without the frame.

What is the difference compared to a fabric screen without a frame?

On this page, you can buy the canvas and frame together, ready to hang on the wall. If your frame is already hanging, you’ll only need the canvas, in which case you’re better off on the other page. The canvas and finish are the same in both cases.

How big can the canvas be?

The product specification states a canvas width of up to 3 metres. We print the length to fit your frame. If your wall is wider than 3 metres, please let us know, as we will then split the image across several canvases and frames.

Do you fit the frames as well?

Yes. Creafor has its own installation team and its own aerial work platform, so we can even hang frames high up in a shop or an atrium ourselves. If you’d prefer to do it yourself, we’ll simply deliver the fabric and the frame to you.

Does the fabric contain PVC?

No, the standard fabric is polyester and PVC-free. This makes it lightweight, and it can be recycled in the same way as polyester. Different grades apply to fabrics used in light boxes; you’ll find these under ‘textile fabrics’.

How much does a fabric panel with a frame cost?

Textile fabric is available as an option in our ordering module, where you can enter your own dimensions and quantity and see the price straight away. We include the cost of the frame based on your dimensions.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Starting with a piece of canvas and a frame, either together or just the canvas on its own.

How much would it cost to replace just the screen at a later date?

A second canvas is considerably cheaper than the first order, as the frame is reused. That is precisely why shops and showrooms opt for this system.

What is the difference between this and a blackback cloth?

If the fabric is hung in front of a window or suspended freely in the room, light from the surroundings will shine through it in the case of a standard fabric. A blackback fabric has a black reverse side and blocks this light.

Can the canvas be sent folded?

Yes. Polyester is crease-resistant enough to be sent flat and then stretch back tightly over the frame.

What is the difference between this and Airtex wall covering?

A piece of fabric is hung in a frame and is designed to be replaced. Airtex is applied directly to the wall using wallpaper paste and remains there, without a frame or border.

Description Textile cloth

Are you looking for a fabric panel for a wall in your shop, showroom or reception area? Creafor supplies both the fabric and the frame as a set, so you don’t have to work out for yourself which fits into which. The image is printed to fit your wall exactly and stretched into the aluminium profile using a tension cord, ensuring it remains flat and leaves no screws or edges visible. If you want a different image later on, simply remove the fabric from the frame and stretch the new one in. The frame remains in place. If you already have that frame, you can simply order a textile canvas without frame. If you’re looking for a freestanding wall for an exhibition stand, have a look at the zipper wall. The fabric itself is lightweight and PVC-free, and is carried folded rather than on a roll.
