Frequently asked questions about magnetic whiteboards
What do I use to write on a board like that?
With an erasable whiteboard marker. The board has a glossy finish as standard due to the whiteboard laminate or varnish, allowing you to wipe the marker off. This board is not suitable for chalk; for that purpose, we manufacture chalkboards with a separate chalk coating.
Are the signs actually magnetic?
Yes. We print onto a 3 mm white magnetic Dibond board, so magnets and printed magnetic film stay in place on the board. This makes it suitable for use as a planning board on which cards can be moved around.
Can I have my own layout and logo printed?
Yes, that’s exactly what sets it apart from a standard whiteboard you’d buy in a shop. We print your grid, columns, sections and logo in full colour onto the board and then finish it with whiteboard laminate or varnish. So you don’t have to redraw the lines every week.
How big can a whiteboard be?
The Dibond sheet is available in sizes up to 2050 x 4050 mm, so it is possible to cover an entire wall with a single panel. For wider walls, we use several panels placed side by side.
Can the sign be put up outside?
The product specifications list this item as suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and the Dibond panel itself is approved for long-term outdoor signage. We do not have any data on how the whiteboard coating holds up in all weathers, so please let us know if the board is to be left permanently outdoors.
What’s the difference between this and a chalkboard?
A whiteboard is magnetic and can be written on with a dry-erase pen; it is designed for planning and presenting in a business setting. A chalkboard is intended for use with ordinary chalk and is mainly used in the hospitality industry for menus or special offers.
Is there also a version without a plate?
Yes, as well as the magnetic whiteboard, the ordering module also includes a straight whiteboard sticker and a shaped whiteboard sticker. You stick these onto an existing surface. The sticker itself is, of course, not magnetic; the magnetic layer is in the board.
Do you also deliver and put up the sign?
Delivery and installation may or may not be carried out by Creafor. If you opt for installation, our team will come and fit the sign on site, using fixing materials suitable for the surface.
How much does a whiteboard cost?
Whiteboards are available in our ordering module, where you can enter your own dimensions and quantity and see the price straight away. For a custom shape or a special mounting option, we will provide a bespoke quote.
What is the minimum order quantity?
From one plate. For a series with the same layout – for example, one per department – we include the number in the total.
What about the environmental aspect?
Dibond scores 1 out of 5 and is not PVC-free. However, a whiteboard can be left up for years and reused time and time again, so it works out favourably over a year’s use.
