Frequently asked questions about window stickers

How do I apply a window sticker without getting air bubbles?

The easiest way to apply large stickers is to wet them with a little soap and water, so that you can still move the film around. Small stickers can easily be applied dry. If you do run into any problems, just give us a call and we’ll help you out.

Do you apply the window stickers as well?

Yes, our skilled tradespeople will come and do that. For tall windows or a façade above a shop, we use our own aerial work platform.

How long does a window sticker last?

Vinyl monomer lasts for about 2 years outdoors, whilst polymer lasts for 5 years. A static penstick lasts for about a year, but you choose that one precisely because you want to be able to remove it at any time.

What is the difference between this and one-way vision?

A standard window sticker is opaque, so nobody can see through the glass where the film is applied – not even you. One-way vision film is perforated: from the outside, people can see the print; from the inside, you can see out. So choose based on visibility rather than the message.

Can a sticker be placed on the inside of the window?

That’s possible, using a film that adheres to the printed side. The message is then visible from the outside and is safely protected behind the glass. Please specify which side you mean when placing your order, as this determines whether the image is printed in mirror image.

Do window stickers leave any adhesive residue?

Not the static cling penstick – that sticks without glue and comes off in one piece. Vinyl with adhesive does, however, leave a bit of glue on the glass after a long time; you can remove this with a scraper and a bit of cleaning product.

Can you cut it into a shape?

Yes. As well as rectangles – with rounded corners if required – we can also cut a freeform shape around your logo or a silhouette. In the order module, you can choose between a straight edge and a freeform shape.

Can a window sticker withstand rain and sunshine?

The vinyls we use for windows are suitable for outdoor use, so you can stick them to the street-facing side of the glass. A protective laminate or varnish will help the colours last longer.

How much does a window sticker cost?

Window stickers are available in our ordering module, where you can enter your own dimensions and quantity and see the price straight away. For cut-out letters and installation at height, we provide a bespoke quote.

What is the minimum order quantity?

From a single piece, even for a single window. For a series of shop windows in different branches, we calculate the total number.

What is the largest size?

Limited to the roll width of the film. For a full-width shop window, we use strips that fit snugly together, with the seam positioned on a window mullion where it is concealed. See also large stickers.

What about the environmental aspect?

The vinyl films are made of PVC and are collected as such. If you wish to work exclusively with PVC-free materials, we can discuss the options available to you; please see the materials page.

Description Window stickers

Are you looking for window stickers for your shop window, display case or the entrance door to your business? These range from a discount offer that stays up for three weeks to your opening hours, your logo and your name, which need to remain visible for years. You can choose whether the sticker goes on the outside or the inside of the glass, whether it’s readable from one side or both, and whether it’s straight-edged or free-form. For a temporary promotion, monomeric vinyl is sufficient; for permanent signage, choose polymeric vinyl; and static penstick adheres without glue, so nothing is left behind when removed. If your main priority is to prevent passers-by from looking in whilst you retain your own view, then you’re better off with one-way vision.

Materials for Window stickers

Vinyl monomer, up to 2 years

White or transparent – the cheapest option for flat glass. The choice for a promotion that needs to last a season.

Polyvinyl chloride, up to 5 years

White or transparent, also suitable for slightly curved glass. For a name or opening hours that will last for years.

Static penstick, up to 1 year

No adhesive layer, so it can be repositioned and leaves no adhesive residue. It is applied wet, which makes it easier to position correctly.

Yupo, crystal clear

For those who want only the print to be visible, and not the backing. The film itself then becomes invisible against the glass.
