Order luggage tags

You’ll be taken straight to the calculation module, where you can enter the size and quantity yourself and see the price straight away.

Orders are placed via printvis.be, our own ordering system. There, you can calculate the price based on your chosen size and quantity. You create your own design using the editor within the system, so you do not need to provide a print-ready file.

Frequently asked questions about luggage labels

Can a luggage tag withstand the rain?

Yes, provided you choose a waterproof substrate. Polypropylene film, Priplak and PVC film are listed on the product data sheet as suitable for outdoor use, whilst Polyart and Tyvek are waterproof and tear-resistant. A protective varnish can also be applied if desired.

Are there any PVC-free luggage tags?

Yes. Priplak is listed on the product sheet as PVC-free, whereas PVC film is not. We make a point of highlighting this difference so that you can make an informed choice if your client has specific packaging requirements.

What finishes are available?

An additional protective varnish in matt, satin or gloss finish, and die-cutting using an existing or new die. For large print runs, we use screen printing, colour by colour, rather than digital printing.

Can reflective or fluorescent colours be used?

Yes. We print fluorescent, reflective and phosphorescent colours, which help when a bag needs to be spotted quickly on a baggage carousel or in a dimly lit room.

Can I have the same labels made again next year?

Yes. If you provide the same design and the same file, the new batch will be produced using the same material and the same print. If an existing cap mould is used, the shape will also remain identical.

Is the price shown in the order module?

No. Luggage tags are not included as a standard option in the module, as the design, material and print run vary from one order to another. If you provide us with those three details, we will quote a price based on them.

Who usually orders these labels?

Primarily conference organisers and travel agencies, which cater for an entire group as a single booking. Also, sports clubs and schools that wish to keep a group’s luggage separate.

What is the difference between this and a hangtag?

The construction is the same, but the use is not. A hangtag is attached to a product in the shop and stays there. A luggage tag goes with you when you travel, so tear resistance and water resistance are more important than the appearance of the cardboard.

What is the minimum order quantity?

From a single item, although this almost always involves a batch for a travel group, a club or a trade fair. For orders of hundreds of items, the price per label drops significantly.

What is the largest size?

Up to 80 by 120 cm in sticky label format, but a luggage tag must remain hand-sized. Anything larger will rub against the suitcase and tear off.

Description Suitcase labels

Is a group setting off and do you need to be able to trace every bag along the way? Printed luggage tags feature the owner’s name, address and telephone number, with the travel agency or organiser’s logo on the front. Creafor produces these labels in batches, so that every participant receives the same label and you can have the same design reproduced next year. Such a label will be squashed in a luggage hold, get wet in the rain and be handled roughly, so the material it’s made of is what matters most. Priplak and polypropylene film are listed as PVC-free and suitable for outdoor use; PVC film is not PVC-free, whilst waterproof, tear-resistant paper made from Polyart or Tyvek remains legible when wet. If the label is attached to a product rather than a bag, you’re better off with hangtags.

Materials for Suitcase labels

Priplak, PVC-free and suitable for outdoor use

Polypropylene in thicknesses from 500 to 1800 µm, up to 80 by 120 cm. It won’t tear and keeps things dry in a boot, which is exactly what a luggage tag needs to do.

Waterproof and tear-resistant paper

Made from Polyart or Tyvek, matt white. It feels like paper but behaves like foil, and you can write on it with a pen.

Or PVC film

Glossy or matt, in white, coloured, black or transparent, in thicknesses from 200 to 900 µm and up to 70 by 100 cm. Not PVC-free.

Print

  • Full-colour digital printing, or colour-by-colour screen printing for large print runs
  • Printing in fluorescent, reflective or phosphorescent colours
  • Extra protective varnish in matt, satin or gloss

Form

  • Cutting out using an existing or a new pattern
  • A hole punched out for the strap or cord
  • Ecoscore of 2 out of 5 for the PVC-free versions
