The EcoScore is our own assessment of the material’s environmental footprint, on a scale of 1 to 5. It says nothing about the quality, and the material must be recycled under the right conditions.
The colour of the centre of the plate, and therefore of the cut edge. Black creates a visible dark line around a milled shape, whilst white makes the edge blend in.
Yes. The sheet is suitable for outdoor use and can be laminated.
No. If you’d prefer PVC-free options, Ecoboard, Foamboard, Bubbleboard and Stadur Sign are the alternatives.
We print on 3, 5 and 10 mm thicknesses, up to 2030 x 3050 mm.
Palboard is not listed as a standard option in the ordering module. Please provide us with the dimensions, thickness and quantity, and we will work out the price for you.
From a record.
A sheet measures a maximum of 2030 by 3050 mm.
Palboard is lighter and cheaper; Dibond is flatter and lasts much longer outdoors. For a sign that will hang on a façade for years, Dibond remains the standard; for temporary work requiring a hard top layer, Palboard will do the job.
Palboard is made of PVC and scores 1 out of 5, the lowest in this range. If this is a sensitive issue for your project, then Ecoboard, Foamboard, Bubbleboard and Stadur Sign are the PVC-free sheets that come closest. See the materials page.
As a full-size PDF, with a 3 mm bleed all round, and the cut line as a separate layer. If laminate is to be applied over it, please mention this, as matt laminate makes the colours appear much more subdued than they do on screen.
A few years, depending on its position in relation to the sun and whether it is covered with laminate. For a façade sign that really needs to stay up for years, Dibond is the material that can cope with that.
Palboard is a sheet with a hard top layer encasing a foamed core, available in 3, 5 and 10 mm thicknesses. We stock them with both a white and a black core. The hard top layer makes the sheet more scratch-resistant than forex, it can be used outdoors, and it is one of the few sheets in our range that can be laminated.
Palboard is the ideal choice when a board needs to look neat and when it is handled. The hard top coat keeps the print intact in a shop, at a trade fair or on a counter, and the board withstands outdoor conditions better than an uncoated foam board. The black core gives the cut edge a dark line, which adds to the finish when used for a milled shape or a floating panel. With the white core, the edge blends in seamlessly against a light background.
Palboard contains PVC. If your client excludes PVC, then you should consider ecoboard for 3 mm, foam board or bubbleboard for 5 mm and stadur sign for thicker sheets. The price is higher than that of Forex, so the hard coating is not worth it for one-off interior projects. The maximum dimensions are 2030 x 3050 mm.
Please provide us with the plan or the dimensions, and tell us what needs to be included. We will assess the best options from a technical and budgetary perspective, and draw up a proposal covering design, production and installation.

A sheet with a hard outer layer that is more resistant to scratches and knocks than foam. Stiffness rating 4 out of 5, and the only one in this range that can be laminated.
The core determines the colour of the cut edge. White blends in with a light-coloured design, whilst black makes the shape stand out. That is a choice you make before we mill the piece.
