Frequently asked questions about stalendoos
What is the difference between this and a sample box?
The display box is the sturdier version. It’s taken along to meetings and comes back every time, so it needs to be able to open and close without losing any of its integrity. A sample box is sent to a customer and stays there. The materials also differ: plywood and felt versus corrugated cardboard.
How big can the box be?
The plywood sheet measures up to 1222 x 2500 mm and the felt sheet 1222 x 3050 mm. Within these limits, you can determine the external dimensions and layout yourself.
Is the box rainproof?
No. Plywood, felt and sulphate board are interior materials. The box can withstand being transported in a car, but it is not designed to be left outside.
Is a stable box PVC-free?
Plywood, felt and sulphate board are all PVC-free. The wood is recycled as wood, the felt as PET, and the board is recycled with the paper.
Can I order a second suitcase at a later date?
Yes. The layout and your print file are retained, so that a second case will be identical to the first. We mill, cut and print in-house in Lokeren; there is no intermediary between the two batches.
What if my range changes?
In that case, we’ll adjust the layout whilst keeping the case the same. We’ll keep your drawing on file, so an extra compartment or a different size won’t require a new design.
Is there a price shown in the order module?
No. The price of a sample box is calculated on a project-by-project basis, as the layout depends on the number of samples and their dimensions. For cardboard boxes in a standard shape, however, the module calculates the price straight away.
Can you produce the design?
Yes. Based on your briefing, our design team will draw up the box and its interior. If you supply a file yourself, it will be checked for dimensions, bleed, contour lines and transparency flattening.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Starting from one case. For a sales team, simply order as many as there are people in the field, and the price per case will go down.
What about the environmental aspect?
Plywood is PVC-free and recyclable as wood; 60 per cent of the felt is made from PET bottles; and the cardboard scores 5 out of 5. The entire structure is PVC-free.
Description Sample box
If your sales representative is taking a full range of samples to a client, a sample case needs to be more durable than packaging that is only sent once. Creafor builds the case around your samples, with an internal layout that ensures each sample returns to its correct place after the appointment. For the most robust version, we use plywood in 4, 8, 12 or 18 mm thicknesses, with a cut-out felt lining in 9, 18 or 25 mm thicknesses. If you’d prefer a lighter option, the box can also be made from 300-gram sulphate cardboard. Both plywood and felt are PVC-free; the wood is recycled as timber and the felt consists of 60 per cent PET bottles. If the box remains with the customer, then a sample box the more economical option. If your range consists of thin sheets, have a look at steel fans.

Materials for Sample box
Plywood, 4 to 18 mm
PVC-free and recyclable like wood. This is a case that’s built to last: a sales representative will be carrying it around for years, so it needs to be able to withstand the rigours of being carried in the boot of a car.
Felt interior
Nine, 18 or 25 mm, cut to your specifications, made from 60 per cent PET bottles. Wood and felt are printed with white ink.
Or lighter, made from sulphate board
Weighing 300 grams, if the suitcase doesn’t need to last for years.
