Orders are placed via printvis.be, our own ordering system. There, you can calculate the price based on your chosen size and quantity. You create your own design using the editor within the system, so you do not need to provide a print-ready file.
Frequently asked questions about photo on canvas
How sharp should my photo be?
The larger you want the canvas to be, the more pixels your file will need. Please send us your photo along with the desired dimensions, and we’ll check the file before printing. Our file check verifies the dimensions, bleed and outline, so you won’t be in for any surprises.
Can a photo on canvas be hung outdoors?
No. The 310-gram canvas is listed in our materials sheet as an indoor material. The old product page suggested that it could also be used outdoors, but that does not match the information in the sheet, so we’re sticking to indoor use.
Will the canvas be stretched or loose?
We stretch the canvas onto a wooden stretcher frame as standard, so you can hang it up straight away. If you would prefer just the printed canvas and wish to stretch it yourself, that is also possible. This option and the corresponding stretcher slats are explained on our page about canvas.
How big can a photo on canvas be?
We can print up to 3 metres wide, so even an image that covers half a wall is possible. As for the length, it depends on your file and your wall. Please let us know your dimensions, and we’ll check whether your photo will remain sharp enough at that size.
What is the difference compared to the ‘canvas’ page?
It’s the same canvas. This page is based on your own photo and on a wall at home or in a business premises. The ‘canvas’ page goes into more detail about art reproductions, the choice of stretcher bars and the standard sizes. If you’re unsure, both pages will lead you to the same end product.
Can I order several photos in the same size?
Yes, and that’s a very popular arrangement: a series of canvases of the same size hung side by side on a single wall. Please let us know how many canvases you’d like and in what size, and we’ll ensure the colour reproduction is consistent across the entire series.
Is the fabric environmentally friendly?
The canvas is made of cotton and is therefore PVC-free. However, the EcoScore remains at 2 out of 5, as cotton cultivation has a significant environmental impact. If you’re looking for a lower environmental impact, please let us know, and we’ll work with you to see if a different inner canvas would be suitable for your artwork.
Can I calculate the price myself in the module?
There are currently no options available for this page in our ordering system. Please request a quote, specifying your dimensions, quantity and whether you would like the canvas stretched. You can find the standard sizes on the canvas page.
What is the minimum order quantity?
From a canvas. You can order several photos in the same size, in which case the price per item is reduced as they are all stretched in a single batch.
What is the largest size?
Three metres wide. If it’s any wider than that, a canvas will sag on the stretcher bars, in which case a Dibond photo panel is the more stable option.
What about the environmental aspect?
Cotton, PVC-free, Ecoscore 2 out of 5. It is one of the few designs in our range that is printed on a natural fibre.

A photo on canvas is displayed without glass in front of it, so you won’t be bothered by reflections and the image remains clear even with the lights on. We print your file onto 310-gram white cotton canvas, up to three metres wide, and stretch it onto a wooden stretcher frame in our own workshop, so you receive it ready to hang. This canvas is intended for indoor use.
