Frequently asked questions about polymer stickers

How long does a polymer sticker last when left outdoors?

Up to 5 years. That is what it says in the material data sheet for the polyvinyl we use, and that is also how the options are listed in the ordering module. The material is used both indoors and outdoors.

Why is a laminate applied over the print?

Polymer stickers are almost always laminated. The laminate covers the ink and protects it from UV light and the elements, ensuring that the colours do not fade or become damaged. You can choose between a matt or glossy finish.

What exactly does ‘slightly curved’ mean?

A surface that flexes in one direction, such as a car door that is slightly convex or a panel with a gentle curve. As soon as the surface curves in two directions, with ridges or hollows, cast vinyl comes into play, as this type of vinyl is thermally deformable.

Can I stick polymer to glass?

Yes. As well as the white film, there is a transparent version, and glass is a flat surface. Shop windows and glass surfaces are among the standard applications, as are interior fittings, walls, floors and furniture.

Do you install the lettering as well?

Yes. Creafor has its own installation team who will visit you by appointment, bringing their own aerial work platform for work at height. We’ll come and measure the site in advance so that there’s no dispute about the result afterwards.

Why not just use monomer – it’s cheaper, isn’t it?

Because monomer lasts for up to two years and is only suitable for flat surfaces. That’s perfectly fine for a project lasting a few months. For a van or a façade that you won’t be looking at again for years, the five-year polymer option works out cheaper.

Which models can I order straight away?

The ordering module offers twelve polymer options: white or transparent, straight-cut, die-cut or kiss-cut, and – for the white film – with either a matt or gloss laminate. You can calculate the price yourself, whether as a guest or a registered user.

Description Polymer stickers

Does your company name need to remain on a van for years, or is the lettering on your shop front there for good? In that case, a polymer sticker is the way to go – the material that Creafor uses for permanent signage. Opening hours on glass, numbering on machinery, signage inside a building, a logo on a billboard: you apply it once and then you don’t have to worry about it again. Polymer vinyl lasts up to 5 years outdoors and adheres not only to flat surfaces but also to slightly curved parts, such as a car door or a gently domed panel. It’s usually covered with a laminate. If your campaign only lasts a few months, then a monomer sticker by 2 years. If it’s a full wrap or shapes that curve in two directions, then you have moulded cast vinyl required, up to 7 years.
