Frequently asked questions about printed plastic ring binders

Are printed plastic ring binders made of PVC?

No. We make them from Priplak, a polypropylene film. According to the product data sheet, it is PVC-free and recyclable as polypropylene, with an EcoScore of 2. This is different from our plastic cards and PVC name tags, which are made from PVC film.

What thickness do you use for a ring binder?

The film is available in thicknesses of 500, 800, 1200 and 1800 µm. For a ring binder, 1.2 mm is the standard choice, i.e. 1200 µm. A different thickness may be appropriate for a thinner insert or a sturdier cover.

Is the folder waterproof?

Polypropylene is water-resistant and hard-wearing, and according to the product specifications, the material is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. As no lifespan in years is specified, we have not included one either.

Can tabs be printed with it?

Yes. We produce the ring binders with or without tabs, using the same material and the same print. This ensures that the cover and the tabs blend seamlessly together visually.

What sizes are available?

The film comes in sheets measuring up to 80 x 120 cm. We cut it to size within that sheet, either to the standard shape or to a shape made specifically for your folder. Please let us know the size of the sheet it needs to hold, and we will calculate the perimeter.

How is the print produced for a large print run?

We print small runs digitally in full colour. For large print runs, we print colour by colour or in four-colour process using screen printing. Fluorescent, reflective and phosphorescent colours are also available.

Will I be able to reorder within a year without noticing any difference?

Yes. We keep track of the layout and structure of the job, and print the new run on the same film with the same finish. That way, last year’s and this year’s folders sit side by side on the same shelf without standing out.

Can Creafor design the folder?

Yes. Based on a clear briefing, our design team will create the design or help you prepare your own file for printing. We check every file for size, transparency flattening, outline paths and bleed before it goes to production.

How much does a printed ring binder cost?

Ring binders are not listed in the ordering module, as the price is determined by a combination of the size, thickness and ring system. Please let us know the quantity and the required size, and we will calculate the price for you.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Starting from one folder for a sample copy. For a print run intended for a training course or a sales team, the price per folder drops significantly.

What is the largest size?

Sheets up to 80 by 120 cm, so even a folder outside the standard sizes. Above A3, a ring binder does become impractical to use.

Description Printed plastic ring binders

Are you looking for printed plastic ring binders featuring your logo, for your sales staff or for a product presentation at a client’s premises? Creafor prints and die-cuts them in Lokeren. These folders travel in cars, sit on workbenches and are opened and closed day in, day out, so the material needs to be up to the task. We use Priplak, a polypropylene film that is water-resistant and hard-wearing, available in white, opaline, transparent or a range of colours. Unlike our PVC cards, this material is PVC-free and recyclable as polypropylene, with an Ecoscore of 2. This is an important consideration if your client is mindful of packaging. The folder is die-cut and finished with a ring binder system, with or without dividers. If you also need packaging for the items you’re including, please see tailor-made box.
