Frequently asked questions about key rings
Which material should I choose for a key ring?
Acrylic if you want a glossy finish and durability; plywood if you’re after a more understated look; polystyrene or film if you need something lightweight and inexpensive. Acrylic is available in white, clear and coloured. We print in white on wood.
Is the ring included?
Yes. We cut the pendant, then drill the hole and attach a ring to it. So you’ll receive it ready to use.
Can a printed key ring withstand the rain?
That depends on the material. Plexiglass and polystyrene are listed in our product sheets as weather-resistant, but plywood is not. A key ring is usually kept in a trouser pocket or a bag, so please let us know if it’s actually going to be left outside permanently.
Can I have a custom shape cut?
Yes. A straight cut is the simplest, but we also cut to shape, for example along the outline of your logo or your own product.
Doesn’t the print wear off in a trouser pocket?
That is what the extra protection is for. You can choose a protective varnish or a protective laminate, in matt, satin or gloss. We have not tested how many months or years the print will last with this treatment, and this information is not included in our records.
Can I work out the price myself?
There are no pre-set options for key rings in the ordering module, so the price is provided on request. Please specify the material, size, shape and quantity, and we’ll calculate the price for you in one go.
What’s the difference between this and a plexiglass trophy?
Size and purpose. A key ring is a freebie that people take home and use every day. A trophy stays on a cupboard and is awarded to a single person.
How do I submit my file?
The size of the pendant, with a separate outline if the shape is not rectangular, and with the position of the hole marked. We check the size, bleed, outline and transparency before production begins.
How much does a key ring cost?
Key rings are not listed in the ordering module, as the price is determined by a combination of the material, the shape and the print run. Please let us know the quantity and the shape you require, and we’ll work out the price for you.
What is the minimum order quantity?
From a single copy for a proof. In practice, this involves a print run, and the price per copy then falls sharply, as the cutting is done in a single pass.
What about the environmental aspect?
Plywood is PVC-free and scores 3 out of 5, acrylic 2 and PVC film 1. For a promotional gift with a story behind it, wood is the material of choice here.

Are you looking for printed key rings to hand out at a trade fair, an open day or with the keys to a delivered appliance? A key ring is picked up several times a day, so your name will be seen more often than with a gift that ends up in a drawer. This does, however, require a legible design, as a logo with a web address works better on this size than a full slogan. At Creafor, you choose the material yourself: plexiglass for shine and durability, plywood for a minimalist look, polystyrene or foil when it needs to be light and inexpensive. Materials for Key rings
3, 5 or 10 mm thick plexiglass
White, transparent or coloured. The usual choice, as plexiglass won’t break in a trouser pocket and the print is protected by a coating.
Whether it’s wood, polystyrene or plastic film
Plywood ranging from 4 to 18 mm thick, onto which we print in white. Polystyrene ranging from 0.5 to 2 mm thick. Or PVC and polypropylene film, white or semi-transparent.
In its own form
Straight-cut or cut to your specific shape, with a drill hole and ring. The shape of your logo is the most common request.
