The sign next to your front door or practice door that tells people who works here and when you’re open.
For a doctor, an architect or a self-employed professional who needs to be found by visitors.
It’s a small piece of work that’s viewed up close, so the finish on the edges is immediately noticeable.
The eco-score is our own assessment of the material’s environmental footprint, on a scale of 1 to 5. It says nothing about quality, and the material must be recycled under the right conditions. Several materials may be listed on this page. We list the material with the lowest environmental footprint, not an average.
Scale and reading distance. A nameplate is hung next to a door or on a practice and is read at close range, so it can accommodate more text and the finish of the edges is important. A façade sign is read from the street and is therefore larger and more understated.
Yes, we produce nameplates for both indoor and outdoor use. For outdoor use, Plexiglas and Dibond are the usual choices, and polystyrene is also suitable for outdoor signage. Please specify in your enquiry whether the sign will be exposed to direct sunlight or positioned under a canopy.
Place the panel on a piece of paper or card and trace the outline and the four drill holes. Fix the card to the wall using tape, ensuring it is level, and drill the holes using the correct drill bit for your surface and wall plugs. First, attach the spacers to the wall, place the plexiglass over them and tighten the screws with a twisting motion.
This is because the print is on the back of the material. What you see is what you’re looking at through a layer of plexiglass, so any scratches on the front won’t affect the print. That is also why plexiglass does not require a protective laminate.
Yes. We round off the corners or mill the sign into a freeform shape. With plexiglass, we polish the edges until they’re crystal-clear, and on a sign that’s viewed up close, that’s the detail that makes all the difference.
Delivery and installation may or may not be carried out by Creafor – the choice is yours. Many customers hang up a single sign next to a door themselves, using the installation instructions provided above. If it involves a series of signs or multiple locations, our team will come round.
For a name without a frame around it, there are milled letters, which are fixed directly to the wall. A nameplate is more practical when it needs to display several names, a logo or opening hours, and it is also easier to replace if a name changes.
There is no option for nameplates in the ordering module. Please provide us with the required dimensions, material and quantity, and we will work out the cost for you. If you are unsure about the location or how to fix them in place, we will come and take a look on site.
From a single sign. For a building housing several practices or offices, we produce a set in the same design, and the quantity is then taken into account.
A nameplate made of plexiglass remains small, as it is meant to be read at close range. If it needs to be larger and legible from a distance, it becomes a façade sign, and in that case Dibond is the material of choice.
Because a drilled sign still looks just as smart years later, and because you can take it down in one go when you move house or change your name. Glued plexiglass doesn’t come off in one piece.
Plexi scores 2 out of 5. It does last a long time and remains clear, so it offers good value for money per year of use. See the materials page for a comparison with the other sheets.
Are you looking for a nameplate for a practice, an office or to hang next to your front door? Creafor produces bespoke nameplates, and because such a sign is read at close quarters, the finish is more important than the size. Our standard sign is made from 10 mm transparent plexiglass with polished, crystal-clear edges and four spacers, which allow the sign to hang slightly away from the wall. We print on the reverse side of the sheet, so the print is behind the material and cannot be scratched. If your name needs to be visible from the street and spans the entire façade, then you’ve come to the right place at facade sign. If you would like just the letters, without the frame around them, please see milling letters.
Please provide us with the plan or the dimensions, and tell us what needs to be included. We will assess the best options from a technical and budgetary perspective, and draw up a proposal covering design, production and installation.

Transparent, with polished edges and four spacers. This means the sign stands away from the wall and casts a shadow, making it legible from the street without being obtrusive.
The print is on the inside of the panel, with the plexiglass covering it. This means the ink is protected, even when cleaning or in the rain.
Polystyrene, dibond, aluminium or plexiglass in a different thickness, if the sign is larger or if the façade requires something slightly different.
