Frequently asked questions about PVC-free stickers

Can PVC-free stickers be displayed outdoors as well?

According to their product data sheets, various PVC-free materials are suitable for outdoor use, such as Priplak. How long the sticker remains in good condition depends on the surface and the level of exposure. When you place your order, please let us know where the sticker will be placed, and we will provide you with the product data sheet for the appropriate material.

What’s the best way to stick a sticker like this on?

The easiest way to apply large stickers is to wet them first, so that you can still move them around before pressing them down. Small stickers can be applied dry. If you do run into any problems, please contact one of our staff members before continuing.

What is the difference between these and eco-labels?

This page is based on one requirement: no PVC. Ecological stickers take a broader view, looking at the full environmental footprint, which also includes paper and PET. In practice, the criteria overlap, and we make the choice together with you.

Is it still possible to use finishes without PVC?

Yes. You can choose a protective varnish in gloss, satin or matt, either over the entire surface or with cut-outs, and a protective laminate that is itself PVC-free, in either a short-term or long-term version. Opaque white, fluorescent colours, a reflective layer and glow-in-the-dark options are also available.

Can I get a sticker in a custom shape?

Yes. As well as rectangular shapes, we can supply rounded corners or a completely customised shape. We can plot out text and logos, cut them out and apply transfer film, so that you can apply them in a single step. You’ll find Paperstick in both rectangular and custom shapes in the ordering module.

What does the eco-score in the table mean?

The EcoScore is a scale developed by Creafor, ranging from 1 to 5. It is neither an official quality mark nor a recognised environmental label, but our own assessment designed to enable us to compare materials. Please feel free to ask what the score for a particular material is based on.

Are these stickers suitable for a hospital or a nursery?

These are the environments for which they are most frequently requested, alongside applications involving toys in accordance with the European standard EN 71-3 and certain food-related applications. Please let us know which standard or specification applies to your requirements, and we will find the material that meets those requirements.

How much does a PVC-free sticker cost?

Paperstick is listed directly in our ordering system, where you can enter your own dimensions and quantity. For the other PVC-free films, we provide a bespoke quote, as these are ordered on a per-order basis.

What is the largest size?

80 by 120 cm for Priplak, and the roll width for the films. For a larger PVC-free area indoors, Airtex is the version that goes up to 3.2 metres.

Description PVC-free stickers

If your specifications or procurement policy state that PVC is not permitted, you should look for PVC-free stickers rather than simply the cheapest vinyl sticker. Creafor prints them in-house, so you can check exactly what material is used beneath your logo. For a flat surface, eco-vinyl is usually the simplest option. If the sticker needs to be removed later without leaving any adhesive residue, a repositionable ‘Easy Dot’ made from polypropylene works better, whilst ‘Yupo Tako’ adheres even without an adhesive layer. The protective layers follow the same principle, as the laminate is also PVC-free. If you’re more concerned about your overall environmental footprint rather than just that one requirement, take a look at ecological stickers. Anyone who doesn’t require PVC and is primarily looking for value for money is often better off with a monomer sticker.

Materials for PVC-free stickers

Ecovinyl, the cheapest option

Transparent or white, for flat applications. The version for those who wish to avoid PVC without changing their technical approach.

PVC-free Easy Dot

Transparent or white, repositionable, made from polypropylene rather than PVC. The adhesive dots prevent air bubbles from forming.

Yupo Tako, without an adhesive layer

Transparent or white, it adheres without glue. So, no PVC and no glue – and that’s the furthest we can go with glass.

Priplak, 500 to 1,800 micrometres

White, opaline or coloured, measuring 80 by 120 cm; according to the product information sheet, it can be recycled with polypropylene. Thicker and sturdier than cling film.

A finish that also remains PVC-free

  • Protective varnish in gloss, satin or matt, applied over the entire surface or left unvarnished
  • A protective laminate that is itself PVC-free, for short- or long-term use
  • Any shape of your choice, from a rectangle to rounded corners to a custom outline
