Frequently asked questions about warning stickers

Can warning stickers be displayed outdoors?

Yes, they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Monomer vinyl lasts for 2 years on a flat surface, whilst polymer vinyl lasts for 5 years and also adheres to slightly curved surfaces. For an external door or a machine located outdoors, you would usually opt for polymer.

What’s the best way to apply them?

It is best to apply signage stickers when the surface is dry. Work from one side to the other to ensure no air bubbles remain underneath. If you do get it wrong, please contact one of our staff members before you throw the sheet away.

What is the difference between these and pictogram stickers?

The range. A pictogram sticker is the individual symbol, outlined and without a background, usually a single character. This page is about the complete set used on a site or in a building, where the stickers together form a system. In practice, they are ordered as a set.

What is the difference between these and road signs?

A sticker is applied to a surface that’s already there – a door, a wall, a machine or a floor. A sign is a separate panel that you hang up or attach to a post. If you don’t have a suitable surface, use a sign.

Can I order just one sticker, or do I have to buy a set?

Orders ranging from a single item to multiple items are possible. A single sticker is sufficient for a single machine or a single door.

I can’t find the right icon – could you help me?

We have a wide range of icons available. Please feel free to ask us for the right icon, and we’ll find one to suit your situation. If you have your own file, we’ll check it for format, outline and bleed before it goes to print.

Can the sticker reflect light?

For fire safety and emergency exits, we use white reflective vinyl. For large quantities, there is a more cost-effective alternative: vinyl printed with a reflective varnish coating, although this is less reflective.

Do you put up the signage as well?

That’s possible. Creafor has its own installation team that will come to your premises as agreed, and also has its own aerial work platform for items that need to be hung high up. For a few stickers at eye level, most customers do it themselves.

How much does a set of signage stickers cost?

Signage stickers are not available as a standard option in the ordering module, as the quantity, size and location vary from building to building. We’ll come round, take the measurements and then work out the cost.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Starting with a single sticker. In practice, it involves a series, and the key thing is that all the stickers come from the same sheet and the same layout.

When should I use a sticker and when should I use a sign?

A sticker is stuck onto something that’s already there: a door, a window, a machine. A sign hangs freely and is the preferred option when there is no surface to stick it to, or when it needs to be read from a distance.

Description Signalisation stickers

Are you looking for signage stickers for your business – to put on a door, a machine or the floor? It usually starts with an audit, a new machine or a refurbishment, where it suddenly needs to be clear where the emergency exit is, where smoking is prohibited and where people need to take care. At Creafor, you can order anything from a single sticker to a complete set, so you don’t have to buy a hundred stickers just for two doors. If you’re looking for the standardised symbol itself, you’re better off at pictogram stickers. If the sign is to be hung freely from a post or a wall rather than stuck to a surface, please see identification signs. Reflective vinyl is available for fire safety and emergency exits, and if you want the signage to be visible even without lighting, choose a glow-in-the-dark finish.

Materials for Signalisation stickers

A coherent series

Signage either works as a whole or it doesn’t. We therefore start by establishing the layout – using the same film, the same size and the same position for the text – and only then do we add the content to each sticker.

White reflective vinyl

For fire safety and emergency exits. Or vinyl with a reflective varnish coating, which offers better value for money for large quantities but has noticeably less reflectivity.

We’ll come and take the measurements

For a building or site, we’ll come and take a look on site to see where the stickers should go. That way, there’ll be no confusion afterwards about the number, size or location.

The carrier

  • Vinyl monomer for a flat surface, 2 years
  • Polymer vinyl for slightly curved surfaces, 5 years
  • Indoors and outdoors

Finish

  • Rectangle, rounded corners or a special shape cut to size
  • Protective varnish in gloss, satin or matt, full-coverage or with cut-outs
  • Protective laminate for short- or long-term use, opaque white, fluorescent or glow-in-the-dark

Applications of Signalisation stickers

Why people order them

  • An emergency exit that must be immediately visible from the corridor.
  • A machine that requires a warning to be displayed before anyone operates it.
  • A door or a canteen where a smoking ban is to be introduced.
  • A car park where the direction of travel and the parking spaces are marked.
  • A warehouse floor where a walkway or a hazard zone is marked out.
  • A delivery van or a commercial vehicle that is required to display a warning.
  • A product or a package bearing a label, including in the food sector.
  • Road signage for roadworks or temporary diversions.
