How thick is foam board?

Is foam board PVC-free?
Yes. The sheet is collected as polypropylene.
Can foam board be used outdoors?
No. The panel is designed for indoor use.
How sturdy is foam board?
Less sturdy than Forex or Ecoboard. The foam core dents when pressure is applied. For a board that needs to withstand impacts, choose Bubbleboard or Palboard.
How much does a foam board panel cost?
Foamboard is not listed as a standard option in the ordering module. Please provide us with the dimensions, quantity and shape, and we will work out the price for you.
What is the minimum order quantity?
From a sheet. For individual letters, we charge per set, as the milling is carried out in a single pass.
What is the largest size?
A sheet measures a maximum of 2030 by 3050 mm.
How do I hang a foam board?
Using double-sided tape, attached to a nylon thread or fitted into a clamping profile. There is little point in using a screw through the plate, as the core is too soft to hold it in place.
Which tyre should I choose if I have to drive in the open air anyway?
Bubbleboard, which is just as light but can withstand the rain. Leaving foam board outside will ruin it.
How do I submit my file?
As a full-size PDF, with a 3 mm bleed all round. For lettering or a silhouette, place the cutting line on a separate layer, and ensure the thinnest parts are at least 15 mm wide; otherwise, there will not be enough material left to support the design.
How susceptible is foam board to impact?
Delicate. A dent in the foam core cannot be removed. For items that are frequently handled, Palboard, with its hard outer layer, is the better choice.
Description Foamboard panels
Foamboard is a lightweight, PVC-free foam sheet, 5 mm thick, measuring up to 2030 x 3050 mm. We stock it as a replacement for forex 5 mm for indoor use. The sheet is lightweight, flat and can be milled, making it suitable for panels that are suspended from a wire or attached to a wall using double-sided tape.
Foamboard is ideal for presentations, exhibitions and in-store displays where the panel needs to remain lightweight. At 5 mm thick and with a weight well below that of Forex, a simple mounting system is sufficient to hold the panel in place. As the sheet is PVC-free, it is suitable for projects where PVC is not permitted. We can mill any shape, so a silhouette or a cut-out letter is just as feasible as a rectangle.
Foamboard is not rigid. The foam core is soft, which means the sheet is susceptible to knocks or pressure from a finger, and the edge may dent. For a panel that will be handled or needs to be transported, choose bubbleboard or pallet board. The sheet cannot be used outdoors, and we do not laminate it.

Milled into letters and silhouettes
Because it cuts gently, even intricate internal shapes come out clean. That is why you should choose foam board for a cut-out word or shape.
