Frequently asked questions about lightbox poster
Will the poster fit in my existing lightbox?
We offer a fully bespoke printing service, so in principle, yes. Measure the visible opening of the cupboard and also let us know how much of the edge on each side is hidden behind the profile, as that strip will need to be printed on or cut away. If you’re unsure, please include a photo of the cupboard with your order.
Can the poster be displayed in a lightbox outdoors?
Yes. The film is UV- and water-resistant and is used both indoors and outdoors. However, it is the cabinet that keeps the water out: if your lightbox is open or there is moisture inside, please let us know, as we will then inspect the structure first.
Glossy or matt – which should I choose?
Both versions are listed in the ordering module as translucent PET film. The old product sheet only mentioned the glossy version; the matt version was added later. If your lightbox is positioned directly opposite a window or a light source, the matt finish is often the more subtle choice.
How big can a lightbox poster be?
The roll width is 127 cm. Within that width, we can print any size, cut to the length of your cupboard. If your cupboard is wider than 127 cm, the poster will be divided into sections and there will be a seam in the image. Please let us know, and we’ll position the seam where it won’t be a nuisance.
What is the difference between this and a backlit fabric panel?
A lightbox poster is a sheet of film that you slide into the frame’s channel. A backlit fabric panel is a piece of fabric with a hem all round, which you stretch into the groove of a frame. Both allow light to pass through. Which of the two you need depends on how your cabinet is constructed.
Is the film PVC-free?
Yes. It is a PET film, PVC-free and recyclable as PET, with an Ecoscore of 2 out of 5. That is also why this film is increasingly in demand for projects where PVC is no longer permitted.
Do I put the poster in myself?
Yes, that’s the idea behind this product: the cabinet stays in place and you simply replace the image. As for the lightbox itself, our team will come to the site with our own aerial work platform to install the cabinet.
What is the minimum order quantity?
From 1 item. Simply enter your size in the order form and choose between gloss and matt, after which you’ll see the price straight away, without having to create an account.
How much does an illuminated poster cost?
The lightbox poster is available in two finishes in our ordering module – glossy and matt – where you can enter your own dimensions and quantity and see the price straight away.
What is the largest size?
One hundred and twenty-seven centimetres wide – the roll width – and cut to size in length. If your lightbox is wider, a backlit fabric panel is the option available in lengths of up to 320 cm.
What about the environmental aspect?
PVC-free PET, Ecoscore 2 out of 5, and collected via the PET recycling scheme. For a poster that is replaced with every campaign, this is a noticeable improvement on PVC film.

Do you already have a lightbox mounted on your façade, in your shop window or in a shopping arcade, and is it just the image inside that needs replacing? Then simply order the poster from Creafor, made to fit the existing box. You can slide it in yourself; the box and the lighting remain in place. We print on a 200-micron translucent PET film that allows light to pass through, suitable for both daytime and evening use. The film is UV- and water-resistant, so it can also be used in an outdoor lightbox. The ordering module offers both a glossy and a matt finish, and you can calculate the price per size. Which allows the light from the lightbox to pass through evenly. UV- and water-resistant, so it can also be used in an outdoor lightbox.
Glossy or matt
Both are in the ordering module. Choose a matt finish if the lightbox is to be hung opposite a window or under spotlights, as a gloss finish will cause reflections in the image.
